Rebecca Adorni - Counsellor
Rebecca is a Northbridge local and PACFA registered Counsellor.
Following a career in hospitality and customer service, Rebecca realized that she wanted to use her passion for working with people to really offer support and space to those who would most benefit.
Rebecca completed a Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Counselling) with Jansen Newman Institute (Sydney), working with clients using a range of therapeutic modalities empirically proven to be effective and long lasting. As a client-centred therapist, Rebecca believes that clients are the experts in their own lives, but often become stuck or derailed by circumstances that make it more difficult to navigate their own way through issues. These issues can include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, relationship problems or breakdowns, alcohol and/or other substance misuse, process addictions, and a whole range of other problems that people face in their day-to-day lives.
Using theories including Cognitive-behavioural therapy, Solutions-focused therapy, Internal Family Systems therapy, Existential therapy and Narrative therapy, Rebecca collaborates with her clients to help them find and embrace their own strengths, coping styles and abilities, whilst uncovering potentially unhelpful thought processes and habits that may be holding them back.
For counselling, there is no one-size-fits-all approach; Rebecca is constantly expanding her professional development, learning about new discoveries in counselling and psychotherapy, and engaging actively in her own therapeutic journey. Rebecca is non-judgmental and genuinely compassionate in her approach to all clients.
